The Birth of a French Brand

Ethic DTC is a French brand of freestyle scooters founded in 2012 by Kevin Demay and Cyrille Vietti Benzidane. The brand’s first model was the Pandemonium, quickly followed by other now-iconic models like the Lindworm and the Erawan.

Before founding Ethic DTC, Kevin Demay, a passionate rider, worked with brands such as Addict and TSI. He also designed scooters for Venice Scooters, a brand known for lightweight and affordable scooters for both beginners and professionals.

On his side, Cyrille Vietti Benzidane is a project manager in event communication, with a career in the specific field of action sports. Within Ethic DTC, he brings his expertise in communication and his network to help grow the brand. Cyrille is also a member of the technical scooter committee of World Skate, the international governing body for action sports.

Ethic DTC places ethics at the heart of its mission by lowering margins to offer high-quality products at affordable prices. The goal is to make freestyle scootering accessible, while preserving the spirit of the sport.

The 12STD System, an Innovation by Ethic

The 12STD system, developed by Ethic DTC, is a major innovation in the world of freestyle scootering, designed to improve performance and durability. Its name, "12STD", refers to the 12 mm diameter of the wheel axle – a significant step forward compared to the 8 mm standard used in most freestyle scooters.

This system stands out for its reliability. Street riders appreciate its ability to absorb heavy impacts without compromising stability or smoothness. It also improves the overall rigidity of the scooter, providing a better feel and greater precision when performing tricks.

  • Reinforced axles : With a 12 mm diameter, the axles are much stronger, significantly reducing the risk of twisting or breaking during repeated impacts, especially in demanding street riding.
  • Oversized bearings : The 12STD system uses wider and stronger bearings. These offer better load distribution and extended longevity, even under intense pressure.
  • High-resistance wheels : The system is designed for wheels with reinforced cores, ensuring better shock absorption and greater stability. Compatible diameters typically range from 115 mm to 125 mm, optimising speed and control.
  • Optimised compatibility : While the 12STD is a specific system, Ethic DTC has developed a complete range of decks, forks, and wheels perfectly adapted to this technology, ensuring seamless integration.

Practical Tips for Choosing Your Ethic Scooter

  • Size : Make sure the handlebar height and deck length match your body type for optimal comfort.
  • Riding style : For street riding, models like the Pandora offer the necessary strength, while the Erawan V2 is better suited for park riding.
